Trycina Whitehurst Obituary; Greenville County Woman Killed in Home Attack; Suspect Remains at Large

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. — A 23-year-old woman is dead following a violent attack at a residence early Monday morning, and authorities are searching for a suspect who fled the scene before deputies arrived.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, has identified the victim as Trycina Whitehurst.

Trycina Whitehurst obituary: Trycina Whitehurst, 23, died following an attack at a home in the 700 block of West Parker Road. Deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after midnight and found her with severe, visible injuries from an apparent assault. Despite the efforts of first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause and manner of her death.

Authorities said the suspect, described as a Black male last seen wearing camouflage pants and a black jacket, fled the residence before law enforcement arrived. An immediate search of the surrounding area was unsuccessful. Investigators confirmed the victim and suspect were known to each other and believe this was an isolated incident, stating there is no ongoing threat to the general public.

The investigation remains active as detectives follow leads. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.

The death of Trycina Whitehurst has left her loved ones and the community in mourning as the investigation continues.
